EDITOR'S CHOICE: Authors and publishers should use Smashwords to widely distribute their copyrighted books through several ereaders and their many different formats all-at-once.
Although many will find the Smashwords Style Guide challenging, it all makes sense when you begin to appreciate the extent of distribution avenues offered.

- Use MS-Word "default" "normal" body text 11-12 point
- Use "Heading" paragraph styles for chapter titles
- Tabs are bad
- Spacebar indents are bad
- Tables are bad
- Photo books are bad
- Extra paragraph returns are bad
- Large and exotic fonts are bad
- Columns are bad
- Text boxes are bad
- Footnotes are bad
- Align images with text
